note

What it is: A smart visual optimization tool in BI dashboard edit mode. Describe a style in natural language, and it beautifies the overall layout, color scheme, and styles in one click.

Benefits:

  • No learning curve: no design experience needed; one sentence gets you a professional result
  • Fast: tens of minutes of manual adjustment shrink to a few seconds
  • Flexible: iterate on styles over multiple rounds to quickly adapt to different scenarios, such as large screens and presentations
  • Back to decisions: free up the effort spent on layout and focus on data insights

Where to find it

  1. Open the target BI dashboard in edit mode.
  2. On the left or at the top, switch to the dashboard page you want to beautify.
  3. Make sure the current page already has charts or components.
  4. In the toolbar at the top of the page, click AI Beautify.

If the current page has no charts or components, the AI Beautify button is grayed out and unavailable. Document pages use a separate document editing toolbar and don't show this entry.

How to use

Open the beautify panel

After you click AI Beautify, the system opens the beautify panel below the button.

The panel contains recommended prompts, an input box, and the generation status. When you open it for the first time, you can click one of the style prompts recommended by the system, or describe the page style you want in the input box.

Enter a beautify description

In the input box, describe the effect you want, such as the page style, color preferences, usage scenario, layout requirements, or key content.

When you're done, click the send button or press Enter to submit. To start a new line, press Shift + Enter.

The clearer your description, the closer the result is to what you expect. We recommend describing one main direction at a time and breaking complex requests into multiple rounds of gradual adjustment.

Wait for generation

After you submit, the panel shows AI is beautifying....

During generation, the input box is temporarily read-only. If you don't want to keep waiting, click the stop button to interrupt this generation. After it stops, the system shows Stopped thinking, and the result isn't applied to the page.

View the result

After generation succeeds, the page automatically applies the beautification result, and the panel shows Beautification complete.

If this result generated and saved a custom theme, the panel shows Beautification complete and saved as a custom theme. You can then continue to view or adjust the theme in the page's theme settings.

Result actions

Undo this round

If you're not satisfied with this round's beautification result, click Undo this round.

After you undo, the page returns to its state before this round of beautification was applied. If this round generated a custom theme, that theme is removed as well.

Regenerate

If the direction is basically right but the result isn't quite there yet, click Regenerate.

The system first restores the page to its state before this round of beautification, and then generates a new design based on the same description. Regenerating doesn't add the same user description again.

Retry

If generation fails, the panel shows the error message and a Retry button.

After you click Retry, the system starts generation again using the description from the failed attempt.

Continue with multiple rounds of beautification

After one round of beautification is complete, you can enter a new description and let AI keep optimizing on top of the current page.

Each round of beautification is based on the current state of the page, so you can generate the overall style first and then ask for adjustments to local visual effects, such as emphasizing key metrics, unifying card spacing, toning down the background, or making it look more high-tech.

Describe the usage scenario

You can say what the page is used for, such as management reporting, operations reviews, large data screens, daily monitoring, or weekly project meetings.

Example:

  • Beautify the current page into a style suitable for management reporting, highlighting key metrics and trend changes.
  • Change it to a large data screen style with a more high-tech look overall and more eye-catching key information.

Describe the visual style

You can say whether you want the page to look fresh, business-like, dark, high-tech, minimal, or premium.

Example:

  • Use a fresh light style with less visual noise so the charts are easier to read.
  • Use a high-tech dark theme that strengthens the page hierarchy and highlights metric cards and trend charts.

Describe layout requirements

You can say that you want cards to be neater, spacing to be more consistent, or key areas to stand out more.

Example:

  • Optimize the page layout so that cards are aligned more consistently and chart spacing is more balanced.
  • Keep the data unchanged, reorganize the page hierarchy, and move the key metrics to a more prominent position.

Describe local focus

You can say which areas you want to highlight or tone down.

Example:

  • Highlight the metric cards at the top and tone down the supporting description area.
  • Make the trend charts stand out more and keep the other charts simple.

Use cases

  • You've finished the first draft of a BI dashboard and need to quickly improve its overall look.
  • You need to make the page clearer and more formal before a presentation.
  • You want to quickly try out different theme styles.
  • The page has many cards and needs consistent spacing, rounded corners, backgrounds, and visual hierarchy.
  • You want to improve how the page looks without changing the data configuration.

Notes

  1. AI Beautify supports only BI dashboard pages in BI dashboard edit mode.
  2. An empty page has nothing to beautify, so the entry is unavailable.
  3. Document pages don't show the AI Beautify entry.
  4. The beautification result covers only styles and layout. It doesn't actively modify chart data, field settings, or query settings.
  5. AI generation takes some time. If a network or service error occurs, you can retry.
  6. If you keep making major edits to the page during generation, the final result is merged into the latest page state as far as possible. For more stable results, we recommend waiting until this round of generation completes before making major changes.
  7. If the page doesn't exist, the page information is incomplete, or the current page doesn't support beautification, the system shows the reason for the failure.
  8. We recommend splitting complex goals into multiple rounds, for example, settle the overall style first and then optimize the layout and key areas.

FAQ

Q: Why can't I see the AI Beautify entry?

Make sure you're in BI dashboard edit mode and the current page is a dashboard page. Document pages don't show this entry.

Q: Why is the button grayed out?

Usually it's because the current page has no charts or components. Add at least one chart or component first, and then use AI Beautify.

Q: Will beautification change my data?

No. AI Beautify adjusts only styles and layout. It doesn't change the data sources, field settings, or business settings of charts.

Q: What if I'm not satisfied with the result?

Click Undo this round to return to the state before beautification, or click Regenerate to generate another version based on the same description.

Q: What if generation fails?

Click Retry. If it fails repeatedly, check your network status, or simplify the description and try again.

Q: Why am I prompted to enter a beautify description?

When you type a description manually, it can't be empty. Enter a simple style request, or click a recommended prompt in the panel.

tip

Usage tips

  1. Make sure the page already has its key charts and metrics before you use AI Beautify.
  2. Descriptions that include both the scenario and the style usually give more stable results.
  3. For important presentation pages, we recommend manually checking the titles, key areas, and overall consistency of the page after generation.
  4. For complex pages, we recommend several rounds of small adjustments instead of one long description.
  5. If you want to keep how certain areas are presented, say so explicitly in the description, for example, "Keep the chart data unchanged" or "Keep the current position of the key metrics".
