Organize dashboards in My Space

Organize dashboards with folders

In the dashboard list, click the + button to the right of My Space and select New folder to create a dashboard folder. You can then organize dashboards into folders by topic, such as "New version user retention" and "User purchase behavior".

Except for the default Shared with me and Default folders, all dashboard folders can be renamed, moved, and deleted.

Manage dashboards in Team Space

When your team needs a common dashboard space to share and categorize multiple dashboards in one place, you can create a Team Space. In a Team Space, space admins and editors can organize dashboards in a structured way, and admins can also add or remove space members as needed.

Create a space

In the dashboard list, click the + button to the right of Team Space and select New Space to create a new team space.

Set space admins, editors, and viewers

Click ... to the right of the team space name and select Share to set the permissions of members in the space. For the permissions of space editors and viewers, see Share dashboards.

Manage dashboards in a space

AE supports the following two ways to put dashboards into a space to share them within your team:

  • Create dashboards or folders directly in the space

To create a dashboard in a space, see Create a dashboard.

  • Move your own dashboards or folders to the space

Under My Space, click … to the right of a dashboard or folder name and select Move to move the dashboard to a space where you have edit permission.

Hand over, configure, or delete a space

Managing a team space also includes handing it over, configuring its settings (name, icon, and description), or deleting it, which space admins can do as needed. The ... menu to the right of the team space name also contains Space page filter and Favorite.

  • After a handover, the original admin becomes a space member. The member you hand the space over to must have the Analyst role or higher.
  • Deleting a space doesn't directly delete its dashboards. After the space is deleted, the folders in it are also deleted, and the dashboards and other assets in the space are moved to their creators' My Space.

Add dashboards to favorites

For frequently used dashboards, folders, and spaces, you can add them to Favorite from More for quick access later.

Select Favorites at the top of the dashboard list to filter and view all the content you've added to favorites.

Note:

  1. Favorites apply only to the current user.
  2. If you create a folder or dashboard while you're in the Favorite view, it may not appear right away because its path isn't in your favorites. Exit the Favorite view first, and then look for the new content.

Hand over a dashboard

To pass a dashboard to someone else for further management and use, you can hand it over to a specified member. After the handover, that member becomes the new Owner of the dashboard and can set up dashboard collaboration, and you become an editor of the dashboard.

Manage all dashboards

All dashboards list

To view all the dashboards you have permission to access, hover over the dashboard management button at the top of the dashboard list and select Manage Dashboards from the menu that appears, or select Manage Dashboards from Function Map in the top navigation.

On the Manage Dashboards page, depending on your permissions, you can edit, configure, share, delete, and hand over dashboards. If you select multiple dashboards, the available operations are the intersection of the operation permissions you have on each selected dashboard.

Batch Edit Settings now supports quick batch operations on the following settings:

  • Dashboard time zone
  • Dashboard fixed time range
  • Scheduled dashboard pre-computation
  • Custom cache
  • Freeze

To do this, select the items you want to batch set, and then configure them. Items that aren't selected aren't affected by the batch operation.

View all dashboards in a project

Members with the View all project dashboards and reports permission can view any dashboard in the project in Manage Dashboards and jump directly to it. On the Manage Dashboards page, the project Owner and the super admin (root admin) have management permissions on any dashboard in the project.
