Custom events

Last updated 06/25/2026

On the Data > Management > Events page, you can view tracked events and custom events. Events created from configured rules are of the Custom Events type.

You can create custom events when you need to:

  • Combine multiple reported events into one type of event for analysis;
  • Split a reported event into finer-grained events;

Example scenarios:

  • How do users in the Shanghai region who top up or purchase items perform in terms of spending?

You need to combine multiple top-up events and purchase events, and to limit the analysis to the Shanghai region, you need to filter the events by the region dimension.

  • What is the trend distribution of users for item consumption or item use events?

You need to combine multiple events for consuming items and using items.

  • How do users whose source channel is Tencent MyApp behave when they get gold coin, diamond, or item rewards?

You need to combine the events for getting gold coins, getting diamonds, and getting items, and to limit the source channel to Tencent MyApp, you need to filter these events by the Source Channel dimension.

In the rules of a custom event (see the figure below):

  • If any of the events is triggered, the custom event is considered triggered;
  • Global filters apply to the events in all rules at the same time;
  • The custom event inherits the event property associations that the events in its rules have in common;
