Note

This is a value-added feature. Make sure the corresponding value-added service is enabled for your system version.

1. Feature overview

  • Based on lineage data, this feature shows the basic information of assets in the project and their upstream and downstream relationships
  • It also provides Quick Filter and Advanced Filter features so that you can get the asset lists you need for asset governance

2. Usage

List page

List page description

  1. Advanced Filter: Filter by a combination of asset properties to locate the assets that need governance. Click the gear on the right to customize advanced filter rules.
  2. Quick Filter: Filter simply by the basic information of assets. Click the gear on the right to customize the quick filter fields.
  3. After you configure the filter conditions, click Query to run the query.
  4. Search by asset name / display name.
  5. Download: Download all data that matches the search and filter conditions.
  6. Batch Management: After filtering assets, perform batch operations by type.
  7. The number of assets that match the current search / filter conditions.

List page description

  • Field descriptions
Field nameDescription
Asset NameThe name of the asset
Asset Display NameThe display name of the asset
Asset TypeThe type of the asset, such as tags, cohorts, reports, and dashboards
source propertyNative Assets = assets from AE analysis features
Model Mapping Assets = assets generated through the DataOps Platform or Model Mapping Assets Configuration
Responsible personThe owner of the asset
Health statusError = dependent assets can't be updated or calculated as needed
Real-time only = affects only real-time calculation scenarios
Global = affects both real-time and non-real-time scenarios
Is Real-time availableWhether the asset can be used in the trigger rules of triggered tasks and in Real-time Alerts
direct dependency assets count

The number of upstream assets the asset depends on. Click to view the asset list

For example, a custom event property depends on multiple event properties

number of assets affected

The number of downstream assets affected by the asset. Click to view the asset list

For example, a custom event property is used by dashboard reports

lineage graphView the upstream and downstream lineage graph of the asset
Recent approx. calculation time

Recent calculation time of the asset. Click to view some of the calculation logs

Data is updated hourly

accumulative impact

An impact score calculated with a weighted algorithm based on factors such as the asset's query count and number of dependent assets

A lower value means a smaller scope of impact. Data is updated daily

Number of queries in the last 90 days

The number of times the asset was queried in the last 90 days

Query requests that hit the cache are not counted. Data is updated daily

space usage

The system storage space used by the asset

Data is updated daily

Updating rulesManual Update = users update the data manually
Periodic update = a schedule rule is set
Live Update = updated when used
Passive trigger update = the current asset is updated when a dependent asset is updated in real time
Time zone

The time zone information of the asset

For example, the calculation time zone of a tag is UTC+8

Scheduled setting

The configuration rule for scheduled asset updates

Expressed in crontab format

Created atThe time the asset was created, in UTC+8

Quick filter

Quick filter description

Click the gear at the end of the quick filter row to customize the quick filter fields:

  1. Click + filter field to add a filter field. The drop-down lists the fields you can select.
  2. Delete an added field.
  3. Cancel or apply the current configuration.

Drag the handle on the left of each row to change the field order.

Advanced filter

Advanced filter bar

Edit advanced filter rules

Click the gear at the end of the advanced filter row to open the Filter dialog and edit rules:

  1. Rule name and description.
  2. View the current rule or other rules.
  3. Save or clear the rule.
  4. Set filter conditions.
  5. Apply the current rule conditions.

Saved rules list

  1. Rule actions, from left to right: Set as current rule, Pin/Unpin, and Delete rule.
  2. The saved rules list. Drag the handle on the left to change the order.

direct dependency assets count

Direct dependency assets description

Click the number in the direct dependency assets count column of the list to view the Assets sheet:

  1. The list page data is updated hourly and may differ slightly from the detailed list data.
  2. Download the current list data.

number of assets affected

Affected assets description

Click the number in the number of assets affected column of the list to view the Assets sheet:

  1. The list page data is updated hourly and may differ slightly from the detailed list data.
  2. Download the current list data.

lineage graph

Lineage graph description

In the lineage graph column of the list, click View to open the asset's lineage graph:

  1. The current asset.
  2. Upstream nodes of the asset.

Recent approx. calculation time

Recent calculation time description

Click the time in the Recent approx. calculation time column of the list to view recent calculation logs:

  1. The list page data is updated hourly and may differ slightly from the detailed list data. Query requests that hit the cache have no calculation time data.

3. Batch asset operations

  • After you get the list of assets to govern with quick filter and advanced filter, you can govern the assets with the [Batch Management] feature. To use [Batch Management], your project role needs the Edit permission for Assets (feature details: allows you to use the batch editing feature in Assets usage governance). Click the Batch Operation Logs icon in the page header to view the batch operation logs

A single Batch Management operation can select up to 1,000 assets. If you have many assets to govern, process them in batches

4. Limits

  • Basic information on the list page, such as asset display name, asset name, and asset type, is updated in real time
  • direct dependency assets count, number of assets affected, and calculation time data are updated hourly
  • accumulative impact, Number of queries in the last 90 days, and space usage are updated daily
  • A single Batch Management operation can select up to 1,000 assets. If you have many assets to govern, process them in batches

5. FAQ

  • Why does "number of assets affected" show 1 on the page but 2 when I click to view details?

The data on the page is updated hourly. When you click for details, the system queries the latest data and shows it in a dialog
So in some cases the two may differ slightly

  • Why is "Number of queries in the last 90 days" 5, but I can only see 2 records in "Recent approx. calculation time"?

When a user queries a report, the system first tries to get results from the cache. When the cache is hit, no new query is run, which keeps overall performance high

In this case, 3 query requests hit the cache, and only 2 requests triggered calculation and recorded time data
