Create a campaign

Last updated 10/03/2026

1. Feature overview

A campaign is a combination of multiple operation tasks that share the same operation goal. You can batch create operation tasks under the same theme, which simplifies the operators' workflow and makes it easier to evaluate campaign effectiveness.

2. How to use

2.1 Create a campaign

Go to the Campaigns page and click the blue button in the upper-right corner to create a campaign.

First, define some basic information for the campaign.

  • Campaign Name: The name of the campaign

  • Campaign Type: The preset options are Top-up, Consumption, Activity, Server launch, and Others. You can also create custom campaign types.

  • Time Zone: The project timezone by default

If no theme or task has been created under the campaign, the campaign timezone can be changed

If the campaign has any theme or task, the campaign timezone cannot be changed

  • Duration: Campaigns come in two duration types

    • One is the long-term Permanent campaign, which has no start or end time limit.
    • The other is the Short-term campaign, for which you need to define the Start time and End time. The start and end times of a campaign affect those of the operation tasks under it, which must fall within the campaign's time range. That is, an operation task cannot start before the campaign starts or end after the campaign ends.
  • Description: Notes about the campaign

2.2 Create a theme

After the campaign is created, click + Theme under the campaign to create a theme: first select a channel in the Select the Channel Type dialog (the Webhook or Push Notification tab), and then configure the theme on the theme editing page.

Campaign hierarchy: campaign - theme - task. A single campaign can contain multiple themes, and a single theme can contain multiple operation tasks.

At the theme level, you can configure common parameters for the tasks under it. If you configure cohort conditions on a theme, the cohorts of the tasks under it inherit the theme's cohort conditions. Likewise, all tasks under a theme are pushed at the same push timing.

Common audience of the theme

When you select Custom Cohort, you can set "overall cohort limits" for the target cohorts of the tasks in the theme (user properties and tags, user behavior events or sequences). The common audience can also use an Existing Cohort as the common cohort condition for all tasks under the theme.

Common task settings of the theme

  • Theme timezone: All themes under the same campaign follow the push timezone configured at the campaign level. Likewise, the tasks under a theme also inherit this timezone rule.

  • Theme name: The name of the campaign theme

  • Number of themes: A single campaign supports a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 10 themes

  • Common task settings of the theme: Once you choose to enable themes, the following settings must be shared

    1. Push Timing: All tasks under a theme share the same push timing. One-time and Recurring are supported; manual push is not supported.

      • Frequency Control: For recurring pushes, all recurring tasks under the theme share the same frequency control strategy
    2. Configuration

      • Push Channel: All tasks under a theme share the same channel, and Delivery Caps apply at the channel level
      • Whitelist: If themes are enabled, the whitelist is set at the theme level, and whitelisted users receive the pushes of all tasks under the theme.

Subtask settings under a theme

After you configure the common parameters at the theme level, you can personalize the tasks under the theme. When you click + to add a subtask, enter the task name in the Create task dialog that appears.

  • Number of subtasks: You can add multiple groups of subtasks under a single theme, at least 1 group and up to 5 groups

  • Task-level audience: At the task level, you can add custom cohort conditions on top of the theme cohort

    • User properties or tags are supported
    • User behavior events or sequences are supported
  • Push content: Multiple languages are supported

  • Action

    • Rename: You can rename a subtask under a theme while it is editable
    • Duplicate: Subtasks can be duplicated in the draft editing state
    • Delete: Deleting the last subtask also deletes the theme

2.3 Create independent tasks

If you want to add other tasks under the campaign in parallel that don't belong to any theme (and don't share parameters), you can create independent tasks separately. An independent task has the same structure as a regular operation task.

By combining themes and independent tasks under a campaign, you can flexibly arrange the strategy mix of the current campaign.
