Scenarios - Leaderboard
Leaderboard analysis ranks a dimension by metric value. You can use it to show Top N lists, ranks, and rank changes.
With a leaderboard, you can answer questions like these:
- Who are the top 100 players by combat power, and what are their records?
- How has this week's topic engagement ranking changed compared with last week?
- View the rankings of both the production-to-consumption ratio and the actual total production and consumption of levels, and find levels that need optimization
Configure a leaderboard
Ranked entity: The dimension to rank, such as Topic in a "topic popularity leaderboard". By default, ranking is by Account ID. You can select any event property or user property, including custom properties.
Ranking metric: The metric value to rank by, such as Popularity in a "topic popularity leaderboard". You can build the ranking metric only from events related to the ranked entity. Ranking is descending by default and can be changed to ascending.
Sort by: There are 3 sorting methods, depending on whether ties are allowed and whether ranks are skipped after a tie. Tied with gaps (rank) gives ranked entities with the same metric value the same rank, and ranks after a tie aren't consecutive, such as 1,2,2,4. Tied without gaps (dense_rank) also allows ties, but ranks after a tie stay consecutive, such as 1,2,2,3. Default order (row_number) doesn't allow ties: if metric values are the same, the system decides the order of ranked entities with the same rank by the results of the Also Show metrics. Note that if you choose a method that allows ties, the system orders tied entities by their lexicographic order.
Also Show: Shows other metric values of the ranked entity besides the ranking metric, such as "wins" and "losses" in a "player combat power leaderboard". It provides supplementary information for the leaderboard.
Also Show Properties: Shows other information about the ranked entity besides the ranking metric, such as "player's guild" and "player name" in a "player combat power leaderboard". It provides supplementary information for the leaderboard.
Configure the ranking period and comparison phase
All metrics used in the leaderboard, including the sorting metric and the Also Show metrics, are calculated over the ranking period as a whole.
You can set one comparison phase for a leaderboard to analyze the metric values in the comparison period, the ranks in the comparison period, and the rank changes relative to the current ranking period. For example, if you set Last week as the comparison phase of "this week's topic popularity leaderboard", you can view each topic's popularity last week, its popularity rank last week, and how its rank changed this week compared with last week, so that you can find the topics that rose or fell the fastest.

- TopN
The number of ranks can be set to an integer from 3 to 1000, and the top N are shown according to the Sort by method you select. Note that even if all ranked entities are ranked, due to display limits, at most the first 1000 rows after sorting can be returned. When you use Tied with gaps or Tied without gaps as the sorting method, not all ranks can be shown. You can download the full data to view it locally.
- Details card
When you hover over a ranked entity you're interested in, a details card for the entity appears. It shows the metric value of the current period, the rank in the current period, the rank change, the global median, the total number of ranks, and the values of the Also Show metrics.
The global median and total number of ranks of the sorting metric can be used to evaluate the ranked entity's position overall. Note that if the ranking metric is null or infinite, the ranked entity is still counted in the total number of ranks and is placed at the bottom of the leaderboard.
