Manage operation tasks

Last updated 10/03/2026

On the operation task list page, besides creating tasks, you can manage existing operation tasks or view their push records and task details.

1. Change the group

Click the Group drop-down list to change or switch the group of an operation task

Note: Only Engage Admins and above can add, delete, or rename groups

2. View push records

Click Record in the Action column to view the push records of an operation task and keep track of the status of each push

If push exceptions occur in a batch, you can download the list of users with push exceptions and the exception reasons from the push records.

3. Withdraw or approve

You can click to withdraw or approve tasks that are under approval (for more information about approval, see Approval settings)

4. Send manually

When the push type is Manual, you can manually send approved manual push tasks at any time as needed

5. Pause a task

You can pause a running task. After it's paused, no further pushes are sent

6. Copy a task

You can copy an existing operation task to create a copy with exactly the same configuration

7. Cross-project import and export

7.1 Select what to export

Export tasks

Click Export to in the upper-right corner of the operation task list page and select the operation tasks to export to other projects. You can export up to 10 tasks at a time

To export tasks to another project, specify the following:

  • Target Project: You can select other projects in which you have permission to create operation tasks
  • Target Channel: A task must have a channel. You can select another channel in the target project that has the same channel type as the exported task. If you don't specify a channel, the corresponding task is discarded
  • Task timezone: If the target project has project timezone turned on, you need to specify the timezone of the imported tasks

After you confirm the information above, click Confirm import to complete the cross-project task import.

Export campaigns

You can export a campaign to the current project or to other projects: for a draft campaign, select Export to from the ⋯ menu on its card; for a campaign in progress, click the Export to icon on its card. Exporting a campaign also requires you to specify the target channel and the campaign timezone. Campaigns with no tasks can't be exported.

Export themes

You can also export a theme under a campaign to a specified campaign in the current project or in other projects. To export a theme, specify the target project and the target campaign.

Because a theme's period must be within its campaign's period, if the period of an exported theme goes beyond the period of the target campaign, you need to reset the start and end time of the imported theme tasks.

7.2 Import validation rules

tip

Because tasks are validated when they are saved as drafts, prepare the same channel content templates and data assets before you export, to improve the import success rate.

Channel

Channel content template: The template parameters, input method, and required settings of the channel content template must be exactly the same

Time zone

The timezone specified during export must be available in the target project

Audience

Assets are matched by asset name and asset type against the available data in the target project. If any item doesn't match, the import fails. Available means:

  • Events: matched by event name
  • Properties: matched by property name, property type, and the property's real-time availability status (for triggered tasks)
  • Cohorts: matched by cohort name, cohort timezone, and the cohort's real-time availability status (for triggered tasks)
  • Tags: matched by tag name, tag type, tag timezone, and the tag's real-time availability status (for triggered tasks)

Client-side conditions (client-side triggered tasks)

  • Matched by client parameter name and parameter type

Other data handling

  • Properties inserted into push content: matched by property name. If no match exists, the property is removed from the push content
  • User time zone: Tasks that use the user time zone can't be imported if the target project has no user time zone field configured
  • User language: Tasks that use multiple languages can't be imported if the target project has no user language field configured
  • Goal settings: If no matching asset exists, the goal settings are discarded
  • Metric settings: If no matching asset exists, the metric settings are discarded

8. End a task

You can end running or paused tasks. After a task ends, no further pushes are sent and its status changes to Finished

9. Delete a task

You can delete operation tasks that are drafts, paused, or finished
