Config items
Each config item corresponds to a business module in your app, such as announcements, carousels, in-app messages, or the event center. You can connect the business modules in your app that need flexible content design to Config Center and create corresponding Config Items for them.
Create a config item
-
Config Name: The display name of the config item, such as announcements, carousels, in-app messages, event center, or system feature parameters.
-
Config ID: The unique identifier of the config item, used to get configurations. The config item ID is delivered with config strategies to identify the business module a strategy belongs to. The config item ID cannot be changed after creation. For technical integration details, see Config Center technical integration docs.
-
Type: Config items have two business types: Document and Independent Parameter
- Document: For business scenarios that need feature parameter templates, such as event configurations, gift pack configurations, and in-app message configurations
- Independent Parameter (not yet supported): For business scenarios that manage system parameters independently, such as feature toggle parameters, ad display frequency, and level difficulty coefficients
-
Groups: Define groups for config items to make multiple config items easier to manage
Manage config items
In the left menu Scene Configuration > Config Items, click a Config Name to open the details page of that config item. Each config item has five modules for editing and management: Basics, Templates, Parameters, Settings, and Analysis Settings.
Basics
In the Basics module, you can view the Config ID and Type, and customize the config item's Icon and Groups.
Templates
You can add config templates under a config item. A config template carries the specific parameters of the corresponding feature module, and one config item can have multiple config templates. Use cases include:
- Event center configuration, where multiple templates carry different event formats
- The same business feature may have different feature parameter designs on different platforms, so you can create multiple templates to deliver configurations to multiple platforms
For how to create and manage config templates, see Config template management.
Parameters
Configurations consist of Template Parameters. Template parameters are feature parameters that your game's business features can parse, and parameter values support multi-level nesting. Parameters under a config item can be used in multiple templates, and you can view and manage existing parameters in Parameters.
For how to create and manage template parameters, see Config parameter management.
Settings
Define the configuration acquisition method
Before you create content strategies for a config item, define how its configurations are acquired. Two acquisition methods are currently supported:
- Webhook: Deliver configurations to the downstream server, which only requires lightweight REST API integration
- Client SDK: Integrate the ThinkingData SDK to get configurations directly on devices
To bind an acquisition method to a config item:
Method 1: Click Enable on the config item card and create an acquisition method, then select the method and channel
Method 2: In the config item's Settings, select a config channel that has already been created in the current project
For how to set up config channels, see Config Center Channel Settings
Members and permissions
Config Center currently supports authorization only through Engage Role, and does not yet support customer-defined edit permissions for config item content (planned for a later iteration)
