DataOps space management
After the TE V5.0 upgrade, the system-level management capabilities of the DataOps Platform were merged into the System Settings module for unified management.
This chapter describes the management capabilities for DataOps Platform spaces.

Create a workspace
Basic information
On the Space management page (Data development in the System Settings top bar → Space management on the left), click the New workspace button in the upper-right corner to start creating a workspace.
First, set the space's Code, display name, picture, remarks, and so on.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Workspace Code | Unique ID of the space. Must start with an English letter. Numbers, letters, and underscores are allowed |
| Workspace Display Name | The display name shown for the space. Must be globally unique |
| Workspace Picture | You can customize the space picture |
| Remarks | Space remarks |
| Base Date | The base date for space data settlement. It must be defined when the space is created
|
| Base Time Zone | The time zone for space data settlement. It must be defined when the space is created
|
Set preset parameters
When creating a space, you need to define three preset parameters: the space's Base Date ${bd}, Base Time Zone ${btz}, and Theoretical scheduling time ${st}. After they're set, you can flexibly call these preset space parameters in modules within the space, such as data integration, development, and queries.
The information cards are shown below:
Base Date
- Definition: the base date for space data settlement
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Parameter name | Defaults to ${bd}. Customizable |
| Format | Defaults to yyyy-MM-dd, in Java SimpleDateFormat format For more ways to set date formats, see Parameter management |
| Offset | An integer, such as -1, 0, or 1. Defaults to -1 Description: the date difference between the base time and the theoretical scheduling time when scheduling runs Example: -1 means the base time is the day before the scheduling time |
Base Time Zone
- Definition: the time zone for space data settlement
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Parameter name | Defaults to ${btz}. Customizable |
| Space Time Zone | UTC ± X. Defaults to the server time zone (for example, UTC + 8) |
| Time zone offset | A number, such as 8, 0, or -8, showing the numeric part of the Current time zone value |
Theoretical scheduling time
- Definition: the point in time at which a task instance should theoretically run
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Parameter name | Defaults to ${st}. Customizable |
| Format | Defaults to yyyyMMddHHmmss |
Manage workspaces
Space types
There are two types of workspaces: the system default Default space, and user-created custom spaces. The system default Default space has the following characteristics:
- It's created automatically when the DataOps Platform is deployed and can't be deleted
- It has data usage and data supply permissions for all Analytics & Engage projects. It can use data from these projects and can also supply data in the space to these projects
- For new Analytics & Engage projects created later, the Default space automatically gets data usage and data supply permissions for them
- The space Code is fixed as default, but you can change the space name and space picture
Change space information
Click the Edit pencil on the space information card to change the space display name, update the picture and remarks, and so on.
Note: The space preset parameters can't be changed once set.
Space member management
Click View member on the space information card to open the member management page.
Click the + Add member button in the upper-right corner to add system members to the current space.
Authorize projects from a space
What is project authorization
- Workspaces are the asset organization structure of the AE DataOps Platform. Data assets, members, user permissions, and so on are isolated between different workspaces.
- Projects are the asset organization structure of the AE Analytics & Engage platform. Assets, members, user permissions, and so on are isolated between different projects.
- Data assets processed in AE DataOps Platform workspaces can be authorized to one or more projects for use.
- For a project in the Analytics & Engage platform, you can authorize one or more workspaces of the DataOps Platform to process the data assets produced in the project.
You can establish data asset relationships between the two platforms through Project Authorization in System Settings - Data development - Space management.
Set project authorization policies
Project Authorization entry
The Default space has data usage and data supply permissions for all projects, so you can't adjust its project permissions.
For custom spaces, find the space information card in System Settings - Data development - Space management, and click Project Authorization in the More menu in the upper-right corner of the card to open the space's project authorization page. A space that hasn't authorized any projects yet shows "The current space has not been authorized for any projects". Click the Project Authorization button on the page to open the authorization configuration dialog.
The initial state of project authorization is shown below. You can authorize existing projects, and you can also configure an authorization policy for projects added later:
Auth Method
A space can set authorization separately for each project. There are three permission levels:
| Permissions | Description |
|---|---|
| Allow supply and use |
|
| Allow use |
|
| No authorization | Assets processed in the workspace are not yet authorized for use by the project |
You can configure an authorization policy in advance for projects added in the future, with the same three permission levels: Allow supply and use, Allow use, and No permission.
Project authorization management
If you've already configured permissions, the project authorization page looks like this
You can edit the Current project authorization or the Add new project authorization policy for future projects again, and view how this workspace is authorized to all current projects.
Select the checkboxes at the start of project rows to change the permission level of multiple projects in bulk, or click the gear button at the end of a row to adjust the permission level of a single project.
Operation log
Finally, you can click the Operations Log button in the upper-right corner to view the change history of workspaces (only the latest 100 entries are shown).
In the operations log sidebar, you can also filter by workspace or operator to locate specific operation records faster.
