Batch create link views

Last updated 10/03/2026

Overview

To create link views for all the data in a database and quickly bring in your existing data system, use Batch Create Link View.

Two batch creation options are currently available:

  • First, create views for a whole database from a specified database
  • Second, retry batch creation tasks that previously had exceptions

Batch create link views

To batch create link views, go to the Catalog → Link Management list page and click + Link View in the upper-right corner.

When the batch creation process starts, a dialog appears for you to choose the batch creation method. Choose whether to create views from a specified database, or to retry the views that failed to be created in a previous batch task that had failures.

Full database sync

If you choose full database sync, select the catalog the database belongs to and then the database itself

After you select Full Database Sync, the page looks like this:

The left side shows the basic information of this batch task, including the catalog and database name for the full database sync.

The right side shows all tables in the current database and the View Name of each view to be created from these tables.

You can change the names of the views to be created, click View structure on the right, or Remove the creation record (that is, don't create this view).

You can also click Reset in the upper-right corner of the list to restore the list to its initial state. Or click Batch Operation and select Batch modify table name, batch delete, or Remove the tables that have been used to create views in the menu (removes all tables that already have views in one click).

If you select Batch modify table name, the list first enters selection mode. Select the entries whose view names you want to change, then click Modify N table names in the upper-right corner. The dialog below appears, where you can add a prefix or suffix to these views.

In the view list, a source table that already has a view is marked with a special tag. In the Batch Operation menu, click Remove the tables that have been used to create views to remove these source tables from the creation list.

A source table can have multiple views, so if you don't remove it, a new view will also be created for that table.

Retry after failure

If you choose retry after failure, select a batch task that has failures (that is, its status is Failed or Partial success). The system automatically picks out the views that failed to be created in the selected task, along with their base tables, to form a new batch task

After you select Retry After Failure, the page looks like the following, which is basically the same as with full database sync.

Finally, after you finish configuring all views, click Batch save or Batch Release in the upper-right corner to create the views in batch. The difference between them:

  1. Save creates link views only in the Dev environment. You can create the production environment link views at any time later with the release function. This suits cases where the configuration may still change: save first, then release once the configuration is final.
  2. Release creates link views in both the Production environment and the Dev environment, which is equivalent to saving and releasing. This suits cases where you've finished all the settings.

After you start the batch creation, the system creates the views asynchronously in the background. When the batch task finishes, an in-app message like the one shown above displays the creation results. Click the record ID to view the detailed results.

Batch creation records

You can view batch creation records on the Link Management list page.

The columns of the batch task list page are as follows:

Column nameDescription
Record IDThe unique ID of the batch task. Click it to view the detail page
OwnerThe owner of the batch task
Created atThe creation time of the batch task
StatusThe status of the batch task, including Running, Failed, Partial success, and Succeeded. Filterable
Number of ViewsThe number of views created by the batch task, including the total, succeeded, and failed counts
SourceThe source catalog and database name of the batch task

Click a record ID to open the detail page, where you can view the basic information of the batch task and the details of each view created.

If the batch task has failures, you can also click Retry on the right of the View setting list to quickly create a new batch task using retry after failure.
