Agent
The Agent page is where you find, create, and manage Agents, and configure their models, instructions, and available capabilities.
Intended for: Agent users and configuration maintainers.
Search keywords: Agent, AI agent, instructions, prompts, capability configuration.
Find and select an Agent
Go to Capability Center → Agent, search by name in the Agent list, and filter by source and category. Before selecting an Agent, check its purpose, model, and linked capabilities. If the page reports a resource error, resolve it before use.
System Agents are provided by the platform. Company Agents are for reuse within the company and are maintained by admins with company resource management permission. Personal Agents are created and maintained by you. Being able to see or use an Agent doesn't mean you can modify its configuration.
To start a task directly, go to Conversations and select an available Agent. To adjust the instructions or capabilities of a public Agent, first copy it as a personal copy.
Create or copy an Agent
Create a personal Agent. Click the add Agent button on the page, fill in the basic information, continue to configure MCP services and Skills, review, and save. Admins with company resource management permission can choose Personal Agent or Company Agent in the add menu; regular users create personal Agents.
Create a company Agent. An admin with company resource management permission selects Company Agent, configures it, and saves it. Management permission here covers System Admins and Agent Admins; being a shared space admin doesn't automatically grant company resource management permission.
Copy an existing Agent. For a system or company Agent that offers the Copy to Personal action, open the action menu, select Copy to Personal, and confirm. Then check the name, instructions, model, and capabilities in your personal Agents, and edit as needed. The general default Agent doesn't offer this copy option.
Copying creates an independent personal Agent, and later configuration changes to one don't affect the other. The models, MCPs, and Skills in the copy still require usage permissions; existing system MCPs aren't carried into the copy.
Configure instructions, models, and capabilities
When you create or edit an Agent, check the following settings in order. Before saving, make sure the selected resources match the Agent's purpose. If you leave the configuration page without saving, your changes are lost.
Basic information and instructions. Set the name, description, and category, and use the system prompt to define the Agent's role, task boundaries, way of working, and output requirements.
Model. You can choose Company default, Personal default, or a specific available model. Company default resolves to the company's default model configuration. Personal default resolves to the current user's personal default configuration rather than being fixed to the creator's model. To maintain models or default settings, see Models.
Switch models in conversations. After you turn on Allow model switching in conversations, users can choose other available models in a conversation. This doesn't change the Agent's own model configuration.
MCP Services. Select the tool services the task needs. New configurations no longer select system MCPs; system capabilities have moved to ae-cli. When you edit an older Agent, existing system MCPs can only be deselected. For how to connect services and complete authorization, see MCP.
Skill. Select reusable methods and workflows, combine them as needed, and stay within the quantity limit shown on the page. To create or maintain skills, see Skill.
Company Agents can't directly bind personal models, personal MCPs, or personal Skills. Personal Agents can likewise select only resources that you're allowed to use and that are available. Selecting a resource in the configuration doesn't grant users business data permissions or complete personal authorization on their behalf.
Knowledge bases aren't part of the Agent configuration form above. To provide business materials for a task, select knowledge bases through the workspace capability settings or in a conversation. For details, see Knowledge base.
Use Agents in a workspace
First switch to the workspace that hosts the task, then start a new conversation, select an available Agent, and send the task. We recommend starting with a small task to check whether the output, model, and tools meet your expectations before using the Agent on an ongoing basis. For how to provide context, link tasks, and view results, see Conversations.
The Agent configuration determines its reusable instructions and capabilities. The space capability settings configure the space's shared capabilities and default Agent, and don't change who owns the Agent. The shared capabilities of a shared space don't connect to personal resources; to use a personal Agent as a shared capability of a shared space, publish it to the company first. For space types, configuration entry points, and role permissions, see Create Space.
To run tasks on a schedule or manually, continue with Automations. For multiple Agents working together with divided roles, continue with Agent Team (Beta).
Agent Team is covered on this page as an Agent collaboration capability.
Share with others and publish to the company
Both operations start from your own personal Agent and are based on the configuration at the time of submission. Whether the entry is available also depends on the current environment configuration and the results of the linked resource check. If there's no entry or the check fails, follow the prompts first. Don't treat a regular copy as sharing or company publishing.
Share a personal copy. In the action menu of a personal Agent, select Share, review Contents handled with this Agent, select recipients in the same company, and send. Recipients view the share in Approval & Sharing and accept it. Once accepted, an independent personal Agent is created for the recipient; recipients don't co-edit the sender's original Agent. Sharing with multiple people may partly succeed, so check the result for each recipient.
Submit to Company. Select Submit to Company, check the configuration and linked resources, fill in the application description, such as applicable scenarios, and submit. Admins preview and review the submission in Approval & Sharing and publish it as a whole based on the submitted content. Changes to the original Agent after submission don't automatically update the submitted content.
A successful submission only enters the approval process. After approval, you still need to check the publishing result. Only Published means the company copy has been published. If publishing failed, follow the prompts to fix the resources and resubmit, or ask an admin to retry publishing.
Check linked resources. Personal MCPs and fixed personal models block sharing and company publishing. Remove them, switch to available company resources, or adjust the model reference as prompted. Personal Skills become personal copies for the recipient when shared, and are published as company Skills through company approval. Company and system resources keep their references and don't become personal copies. Default models still resolve to the actual user's or the company's configuration.
Maintenance, permissions, and FAQ
You only want to change whether you use it. For company or personal Agents that have an enable switch on the page, toggle the enabled status. The switch on a company Agent is your own usage preference. It doesn't turn the Agent on or off for the whole company or change other people's configurations.
You need to modify the configuration. Personal Agents are edited by their owners; company Agents are edited by admins with company resource management permission. System Agents can't be modified directly here. To customize one, use the available Copy to Personal action.
You need to delete it. In the action menu of an Agent you have permission to delete, select Delete, check the object and the prompt, and confirm. Personal Agents are deleted by their owners and company Agents by company resource admins; system Agents can't be deleted. After deletion, the Agent can no longer be used to start new conversations. Keep any information you need first, and check the automations and space default settings that depend on it.
Deleting a personal Agent revokes its related shares that haven't completed and its pending approval requests. States such as a share being accepted may temporarily block deletion; follow the prompt and try again later. Deleting an Agent doesn't delete Space Memory; to maintain and delete memory, go to Space Memory.
You can't find an Agent or can't use it. First check the search and source filters, your personal enabled status, and the current space. Then check for deleted models, MCPs, or Skills, incomplete authorization, or permission restrictions. The shared capabilities of a shared space must be handled by members with configuration permission; for configuration issues with a public Agent itself, contact the company resource admin.
Sharing or publishing is blocked. Open the linked resource check results and first handle prompts about personal MCPs, fixed personal models, and deleted or invalid resources. Try again after fixing them. Sent successfully, being accepted, approved, and published are different results.
