App Store launch guide

Last updated 10/02/2026

With iOS 14.3, Apple updated its privacy policy and requires publishers to fill in a privacy report when they update or release an app. This page explains how to fill it in if your app integrates the SDK.

By default, you only need to select Device ID. If you enable auto-tracking, also select Product Interaction. If you associate users, that is, you call the -login: API, also check User ID

After you save, a series of collection type panels is generated on the App Privacy page based on your selections. Click a panel to make more detailed selections.

1. User ID

The ThinkingData SDK collects the user ID for analytics when the -login: API is called, so select Analytics here

After you check it and click Next, you select whether the collected user ID is linked to the user's identity. Check this based on your business. For details, refer to Apple's definition of linked data, as shown below:

  • Strip data of any direct identifiers (such as email address or name) before collection
  • Manipulate data to break the linkage and prevent re-linkage to real-world identities
  • Additionally, in order for data not to be linked to a particular user's identity, you must avoid certain activities after collection:
  • You must not attempt to link the data back to the user's identity
  • You must not tie the data to other datasets that enable it to be linked to a particular user's identity

Note: "Personal information" and "personal data," as defined under relevant privacy laws, are considered linked to the user.

Click Next and select whether the data is used for tracking purposes. If you call the -enableAutoTrack: API to collect install events, select Yes. The ThinkingData SDK tracks for the purpose of analyzing and measuring ad performance

2. Device ID

The ThinkingData SDK collects the device ID to collect data from before users log in, so select Analytics here as well

Click Next. Because the collected data is tied to the device ID, select Yes here as well

Continue to the next step. As with the user ID, if you call the auto-tracking API, select Yes as well. The ThinkingData SDK uses the IDFV to link with third-party data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement purposes

3. Product interaction

After you enable auto-tracking in the ThinkingData SDK, it collects behaviors such as app launches, app exits, user clicks, and page views to analyze the product, so select Analytics here as well

Click Next and select Yes again:
